Baker Memorial on deck at HCS

The third annual Mike Baker Memorial is on deck at the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway. Racing action begins Saturday night at 7 p.m. Pits will open at 4 p.m., gates an hour later and hot laps hit the dirt track around 6:30 p.m. Six different classifications of racing will take place including USRA Modifieds, USRA Northern Lights Modified Series, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Crown Vics. Thanks to donations from the Baker family and several sponsors, each class will have extra money in the pot to take home. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors ...

IOWA FALLS — The Webster City softball team was unable to get on track here Wednesday night, falling to Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action, 8-3. After rallying in the third to tie the game at 2-all, the Lynx were unable to slow the Cadets down, as Iowa Falls-Alden plated two in the fourth, one in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
