The seventh-ranked (Class 2A) Webster City boys soccer team put the finishing touches on a perfect North Central Conference run, downing rival Humboldt last Thursday on the road, 2-0. Eddy Fuentes-Cruz, who made history by becoming just the fifth Iowa high school boy to reach 100 career goals, added two more to his total to lead the Lynx (14-0 overall, 11-0 in league). SPENCER — The Webster City girls tennis team came up short against Spirit Lake/Okoboji here last Friday in a Class 1A team regional contest, 5-3. Due to inclement weather, the dual was moved indoors. Allie Severe and Alivia Burns picked up a win in singles for the Lynx. Olivia Gallentine and Morgan Hackbarth won in doubles. Severe topped Sydnee Struecker at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). Hawk boys win sectional title

BELLE PLAINE — The South Hamilton boys golf team secured a spot in a district meet by winning a Class 1A sectional here Wednesday. The Hawks finished with a team score of 324, besting BCLUW by 10 strokes for top honors. They will now head to Mason City for a chance to qualify for the state tournament on Monday. Webster City and South Hamilton will compete in state-qualifying track and field meets on Thursday. The Lynx head to Nevada for Class 3A action alongside Ballard, Boone, Carroll, Gilbert, Humboldt, the host Cubs and North Polk. SPENCER — The Webster City girls tennis team earned a pair of Top-4 finishes in doubles on Monday in a regional meet. Olivia Gallentine and Morgan Hackbarth topped teammates Allie Severe and Alivia Burns in the consolation championship, placing third overall. Severe and Burns were fourth.
