HAMPTON — The Webster City volleyball team moved above .500 with their second consecutive victory on Tuesday night. The Lynx (9-8 overall) defeated Hampton-Dumont/CAL (3-7) in straight sets on the road, 25-15, 25-7, 25-17. “The girls definitely came out with a different energy and stayed consistent,” said WCHS head coach Jess Howard. “They were strong and confident. MASON CITY — The Webster City cross country teams fared well at Mason City on Tuesday. Both the Lynx boys and girls teams earned sixth-place finishes. The boys had 154 points. Justin Callahan (17:30) recorded the top effort for Webster City, placing 10th. STATE CENTER — The South Hamilton cross country teams were in action here Tuesday at the West Marshall Invitational. The Hawks placed sixth in both team races. Ankeny Christian Academy won the boys title and West Marshall the girls crown. Hayden Hill secured a Top-10 finish for South Hamilton, placing eighth in 17:22.
