Webster City runs at Bell Invitational

EAGLE GROVE – The Webster City cross country squads each placed fourth overall here Tuesday at the Dick Bell Invitational.

Izzy Grossoehme had the top individual finish, as the senior placed ninth in 22:40. Lyla Brookshire was 15th in 23:18, followed by Quynn Pruismann in 29th, Marlene Saavedra Mendoza in 33rd and Mckenna Buakham in 43rd.

Haedyn Soesbee was 45th, Megan VanDeer 55th, Lilly Mourlan 56th and Rubi Andrade-Murillo 68th.

For the boys, Daniel Murillo-Delfin took 12th in 19:08 and Aidan Wardell was 26th in 19:49.

Kaleb Draeger placed 28th, Max Barrick was one spot back of that, and Kade Kruger finished 31st.

Enrique Brito Ceto was 38th, Grayson Henderson 42nd, Ben Barner 52nd, Braxton Plain 60th, Collin Wardell 67th, Jordan Betts 69th, Owen Anderson 73rd, Dany Morales 97th and Tanner Lenning 104th.

"It was a tough night of racing for us on a challenging course," WCHS head coach Derek Turner said. "Our times weren't what we expected, but it seemed that was a common theme with most teams.

"We have a lot of kids (fighting injuries). The only goal between now and conference is to get as healthy as possible. I'm proud of both squads for how we competed in the second half of the race."

Webster City heads to Maynes Grove next Tuesday for the North Central Conference meet in Franklin.
