South Hamilton tripped up by Pocahontas Area

JEWELL – The South Hamilton football team pushed Pocahontas Area to the limit on Friday, ultimately dropping a 46-38 decision to the Indians on Senior Night.

Kash Northrop rushed for 165 yards to lead the Hawks (1-5 overall), who came up just short despite continuing to battle injury issues. PAC improved to 3-3 with the narrow district victory.

Northrop scored twice, as did quarterback Garrett Johnson. Reggie Williams added 94 yards on 20 carries.

Northrop averaged nearly 14 yards per rush attempt. He also caught a 57-yard pass from Johnson.

Benjamin Swenson was South Hamilton’s leading tackler. Swenson also had three tackles for loss.

Cooper Stuck recovered a fumble for the Hawks, who head to Emmetsburg on Friday.
