OGDEN – Jesus Garcia scored another Top-10 finish here on Monday, leading the South Hamilton cross country team at the Ogden Invitational.
Garcia clocked a time of 17:08 to place sixth overall. Riverside's Owen Fenner was the race winner in 16:35.
South Hamilton took fourth in the team standings. Riverside was first, followed by Ankeny Christian and Earlham.
Jackson Olmstead was 16th in 18:05 for South Hamilton. Jacob Lutjen finished 43rd, John Sandgren was 63rd, Blake Main 88th, Kaden Greenlee 98th and Evan Gibson 101st.
For the girls, Jillian Bentley crossed in 40th place with a time of 23:36. Cici Herrick was 56th, Rosemary Chamness 92nd, Lexi Mathes 97th and Laurel Johnson 107th.
The Hawks were 12th overall, as Madrid was first with Kylie Rochholz of Panorama winning in 18:51.
“A tougher course pushed us to run strong,” SH head coaches Emily Bochmann and Robyn Reisetter said. “We had six (personal records) or (season bests) between both the boys and girls.
“We competed hard and are working on strengthening our second mile.”
South Hamilton heads to Perry to run on Thursday.
