Lynx can’t get past Algona

The Webster City volleyball team dropped a North Central Conference matchup with Algona last Thursday.
Scores were 25-15, 25-14, 19-25 and 25-14.
Tristyn Wright recorded 11 kills and Allison Arends added eight for the Lynx, as Jaylyn Bahrenfuss registered six. Both Evie Davis and Avery Poppen had five.
Bahrenfuss finished with 20 assists and Briley VanDeer added 11. Tessa Hansen recorded 28 digs, Wright 14 and Bahrenfuss nine, as Bahrenfuss tallied three blocks. Arends, Davis and Poppen each had two.
Over the weekend, the Lynx went 3-1 at the Forest City Tournament, scoring wins over Central Springs, Decorah and Clarion-Goldfield/Dows. Their lone loss came to Lake Mills.
Bahrenfuss finished the tournament with 16 kills and Poppen had 10. Hansen recorded 29 digs and Wright 28, as Davis had 21 total blocks.
Webster City hosts a conference quad with Forest City, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura and Hampton-Dumont/CAL on Thursday.
