WEBSTER CITY -- South Hamilton made a push for the team championship at the Lynx Invitational on Tuesday.
The Hawks (89) placed fourth behind winner Roland-Story (77), runner-up Manson Northwest Webster (77) and bronze finisher Southeast Valley (87) in the Gold bracket.
Hawk senior Jesus Garcia (17:09.71) nearly grabbed the individual crown, placing second behind champion Corben Lucchesi (17:08.56) of Roland-Story. Hayden Hill (18:39.69) was seventh for the Hawk boys. Jackson Olmstead (18:55.70) finished ninth.
Jacob Lutjen (20:37.37, 30th) and John Sandgren (21:59.06) crossed in 44th. Kaden Greenlee (50th in 22:24.28), Evan Gibson (51st in 22:24.63), Blake Main (55th in 23:04.04), Sterling Dietzel (66th in 24:42.87) and Caden Christensen (25:26.81 in 73rd) rounded out the lineup.
Jillian Bentley (24:50.03) was the top performer for the Hawk girls in 21st, followed by teammates Cici Herrick (32nd in 26:57.69), Laurel Johnson (51st in 32:45.29) and Rosemary Chamness (53rd in 35:26.41).
