The path for the South Hamilton football team does not get any smoother this week, as the Hawks welcome in another unbeaten foe in East Sac County.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Taylor Field.
After falling to undefeated South Central Calhoun in the district opener last week, 36-15, South Hamilton (1-3 overall, 0-1 in Class 1A, District 2) will look for a victory over the Raiders (4-0, 1-0).
The Hawks have relied on their customary rushing attack, carrying the ball 149 times for 850 yards on the year. Wyatt Gelder leads the way with 53 rushes for 489 yards and six touchdowns, averaging over nine yards per carry.
Kash Northrop enters the game with 155 yards and a TD, as Kaden Dean has 118. Maddux Becker has rushed for 59 and scored two TDs.
Dean has an interception return for a score on defense, and South Hamilton has forced four turnovers total with three sacks. Reggie Williams is the top tackler with 18 stops.
East Sac County has also also a run-first squad this fall, led by Carson Schmitt. The senior has 469 yards and six touchdowns, with Weston Julin adding 305 and four scores.
Julin also has 259 yards passing and four TDs to four different receivers.
The Raider defense has nine interceptions, five fumble recoveries and three touchdowns.
East Sac County owns wins over Manson Northwest Webster, MVAOCOU, Alta-Aurelia and IKM-Manning.
