A second straight ranked opponent awaits the Webster City football team this Friday, as the Lynx welcome in North Central Conference rival Clear Lake for their 2026 home opener.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Last week, the Lynx (0-2 overall) fell to consensus Class 4A Top-10 foe Fort Dodge, 57-0.
Webster City will be looking to get the ground attack back on track after being held to just 3.5 yards per carry vs. the Dodgers. Senior Coyce Bertran leads the unit with 148 yards on the year, and classmate Kaleb Hansen has 124.
Senior Grant Arends anchors the defense, followed by junior Boston Farley. Senior Alex Staley, senior Israel Torres and Hansen are other top tacklers for a defense that has recovered two fumbles.
Clear Lake (2-0) has picked up decisive wins over Humboldt (25-0) and Forest City (56-8) to begin the season. They are led by University of South Dakota commit Jaxson McIntire, as the senior has thrown for 376 yards and five touchdowns on just 17 completions.
Drayce Dohlman leads the ground attack with 123 yards and three TDs. Isaac Brownlee, a University of Pennsylvania commit, has seven receptions for 149 yards and a TD.
Maddon McIntire, a sophomore with 138 yards receiving and two touchdowns, was offered by Iowa State University over the summer.
The Lions have won three straight in the series and 10 of 12 overall, with the last Webster City victory coming in 2017 by a score of 41-27.
