Tesdahl, Dyvig, Griffith recognized

Webster City's Matthew Tesdahl, Braylon Dyvig and Jaxon Griffith each made the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 3A all-district team this year.

Tesdahl, Dyvig, and Griffith were second team selections to the Central District.

The Lynx finished as co-North Central Conference champions this summer, as head coach Adison Kehoe’s squad put together an overall record of 21-10.

Tesdahl, a senior, went 7-1 over eight starts on the mound, recording an earned run average of 0.85 while striking out 72 batters in just under 50 innings pitched. Opponents hit only .142 off him, and he walked only 12 batters.

At the plate, Tesdahl hit .370 with a team-leading 39 RBI, scoring 21 runs. He had 12 doubles and three triples, stealing seven bases.

Dyvig, also a senior, hit .432 with 35 runs scored, 27 RBI and seven doubles, working a team-best 25 walks. He swiped 18 bases in as many tries, had a .930 fielding percentage, and went 5-1 with an earned run average under three and 42 strikeouts.

Griffith, another senior for Webster City, stole a team-high 32 bases and scored a team-best 47 runs, recording a .519 batting average with three homers, three triples and two doubles. He drove in 26, was walked 16 times and hit by a pitch 13 others.
