Lynx softball players Hackbarth, Lahr honored by the NCC

Webster City's Morgan Hackbarth and Amanda Lahr were named all-North Central Conference softball players, the league announced this past week.
Hackbarth, a senior, made the second team. Lahr, a junior was placed on the third squad.
The Lynx went 11-16 overall and finished in a tie for fourth in the conference with a 6-8 mark. Humboldt and Iowa Falls-Alden shared that position with Webster City.
"I’m very pleased that the coaches recognized Morgan and Amanda as all-conference players," WCHS head coach Brad VanDeer said. "Morgan has been a tremendous first baseman for us for a few years now, and it is great to see her get (honored) for it.
"Amanda, being a first-time starter this year, is very deserving as well. She knew she had big shoes to fill. Her hitting was huge for us all year.
Hackbarth had a .395 average over 14 conference games, recording eight runs scored, five RBI, four doubles and a triple. She was a perfect 8-for-8 on stolen base attempts, and had a .979 fielding percentage.
Lahr hit .289 in NCC action, with 13 hits – including a home run – and five RBI. She had a .938 fielding percentage.
