The third annual Mike Baker Memorial is on deck at the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway.

Racing action begins Saturday night at 7 p.m. Pits will open at 4 p.m., gates an hour later and hot laps hit the dirt track around 6:30 p.m.

Six different classifications of racing will take place including USRA Modifieds, USRA Northern Lights Modified Series, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Crown Vics.

Thanks to donations from the Baker family and several sponsors, each class will have extra money in the pot to take home. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $10 for juniors and free for anyone 11-and-under.

Baker, who passed away in 2023, raced modifieds, sprint cars and stock cars. He was a native of Webster City.

Following the Mike Baker Memorial, racing is scheduled July 22-26 during the Hamilton County Fair each night. Among the planned events include the HCSRA Hall of Fame Night at the Races.
