South Hamilton softball team heading in the right direction

JEWELL — The South Hamilton softball team dropped a pair of one-run games in recent days after picking up two straight victories late last week.

The Hawks downed Perry, 10-5, and Janesville, 12-4, falling by a single run to both Hudson, 3-2, and Greene County, 10-9.

In the win over Perry, Adelyn Trask hit two home runs, driving in six runs with six hits total and two runs scored. Claire Hewitt had a pair of RBI, as Emma Lammers had three hits, including two doubles.

Hewitt drove in three, Trask and Lillie Ammerman both had two RBI, and both Lammers and Ellie Beaune each scored three times vs. Janesville. Lammers picked up the win, striking out six in four innings.

Trask leads South Hamilton through nine games with nien RBI and three home runs, as Lammers has a team-high 11 hits. Hewitt has driven in seven.

The Hawks host Nevada on Thursday and are at the OABCIG Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
