South Hamilton inching closer on baseball diamond

JEWELL — The South Hamilton baseball team will be looking for its first win of the season on Thursday when they host Nevada.

The Hawks have been in games with Perry and Greene County in recent days, falling to the Jays, 8-4, and the Rams, 11-6.

Jackson Olmstead and Kash Northrop each had an RBI vs. Perry, as Northrop stole three bases. Garrett Johnson recorded seven strikeouts on the mound in four-plus innings.

In the loss to Greene County, Northrop drove in two runs, as Olmstead scored twice with a double and an RBI. Johnson also recorded a double.

Northrop leads South Hamilton with five RBI this year, as Olmstead has a team-high five hits and seven steals. Johnson has struck out 12 batters in seven-plus innings pitching.
