Lynx softball falls to Algona
ALGONA — The Webster City softball team had a tough inning here Monday night vs. Algona, resulting in a 9-1 defeat in five.
The Bulldogs plated two in the first and added five more in the third to take command of the North Central Conference contest.
Alivia Burns had an RBI, scoring Morgan Hackbarth in the fifth. Hackbarth finished with two hits on the night, including a double.
“We started off the game with a couple of errors that got them rolling,” WCHS head coach Brad VanDeer said. “Algona has a lineup that can put a lot of pressure on you when you make a mistake, and we made too many to keep them off the board.
“One thing this group has been consistent about so far is rebounding, so I expect them to come out Wednesday with some fire and compete.”
The Lynx host Hampton-Dumont/CAL Wednesday night.
