Busy stretch continues for Lynx on the field

The Webster City baseball team split a North Central Conference doubleheader with Clear Lake on Monday before falling to Pocahontas Area on Tuesday night.
The Lynx (16-7 overall) picked up a 6-3 victory in the opener, but the Lions rebounded to take the nightcap, 3-2. Pocahontas Area then earned a 2-1 decision over Webster City.
Jaxon Griffith, Matthew Tesdahl and Carter Mickelson each had two hits in the victory on Monday, and Griffith scored three times. Mickelson drove in three and Tesdahl two.
Braylon Dyvig added an RBI.
On the mound, Tesdahl went six innings, striking out seven with one earned run allowed. Mickelson finished it off with a 12-pitch inning, striking out one.
Dyvig recorded two hits in the loss to Clear Lake with an RBI, while Mickelson also drove in a run. Dyvig also struck out six on the mound, allowing four hits and one earned run.
Tesdahl finished with a pair of hits vs. Pocahontas Area, scoring once. Aiden Hrnicek had a double.
Mickelson tossed a complete game, allowing just one hit, no earned runs and striking out four.
Up next for the Lynx will be action on Friday at the Prange Classic hosted by Ankeny Centennial vs. Urbandale. Webster City is also slated to compete in the Roland-Story Classic at 1 p.m. on Saturday against the host and at 4:30 versus Mason City Newman.
