Lynx girls finish up NCC play
The Webster City girls golf team finished up North Central Conference dual action here Tuesday.
Algona took home first in a triangular, as the Lynx were second followed by Iowa Falls-Alden at the Links Golf Course.
Senior Kenley Koop and junior Hayden McCoy led Webster City (5-3 in league) with 49s, as senior Ellie Peterson carded a 50. Classmate Alleyna Dawson was right behind with a 51, as juniors Carli Jessen (54) and Mylie Keller (57) rounded out the scoring.
Ella Welp of Algona was medalist with a 44.
“One of our goals was to break 200, so that was a positive to do,” WCHS head coach Jeff Lyons said. “We had a real, nice consistent effort from the girls. We’ve been getting a solid fourth counting scorer, which has really helped.”
The Lynx now prepare for 18-hole action when they head to the Eagle Grove Invitational on Thursday from the Eagle Grove Golf Course. The field includes the host Eagles, Central Springs, Humboldt and West Fork.
