The Webster City boys tennis team secured a dual victory over Iowa Falls-Alden here last Friday behind three singles wins and two more doubles triumphs for a 5-4 win.

Nathan Wardell and James Elliott had their hand in four of those, as Wardell scored a straight-set victory at No. 1 in singles over Carter Zollar, 6-4, 6-2.

Elliott, meanwhile, picked up a forfeit at No. 5, as did Vincent Bittner, for the Lynx.

In doubles, Wardell and Sage Bock were victorious, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 1 over Tristen Kappel and Isaiah Nelson, with Elliott and Fabian Ferto-Holdgrafer picking up a forfeit at No. 3 doubles.

“Happy to get these guys another team win to help with their confidence and to help them see the work they have been putting in is paying off,” WCHS head coach Mark Fisher said. “We’ve talked about getting better every day and every meet, but it was also great to see some of the adjustments we made and the improvements over the course of the meet itself.”

Webster City hosts Clear Lake on Monday.

Starting at $3.46/week.
