Hawks run at Ballard Invitational

HUXLEY — The South Hamilton track and field teams were in action here Tuesday at the Ballard Invitational.

The Hawk boys finished fifth overall, as did the girls.

Leading the way for the South Hamilton boys were event winners Jesus Garcia and Titus Herrick. Garcia won the 3,200 in 10:45.05 while Herrick placed first in the discus with a throw of 142-1.

Garcia was also third in the 800 in 2:07.44 and fifth in the 1,600.

Ben Swenson was third in the shot put (43-8) and Davien Henderson right behind with a throw of 42-7.5. Wyatt Gelder added a bronze medal in the 100 in 11.83.

For the South Hamilton girls, Tessa Skartvedt won the shot put, as the junior had a winning throw of 36-1.5. Isabel Swenson was second in the high jump, clearing 5-0, while Brooklyn Doolittle took third in the 100 (13.65) and fourth in the 200 (28.46).

The sprint medley relay of Riah Van De Pol, Hayley Gibson, Doolittle and Adelyn Trask finished third in 2:01.80, as the 4×400 was fourth overall.
