Hamilton County Speedway season opener coming up

The season opener for racing at Hamilton County Speedway is on deck for next week at the famed half-mile semi-banked oval.

Racing is scheduled for Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 with stock cars, B-modifieds, hobby stocks and Crown Vics all set to hit the track.

Iron Man Night is on tap first with cash prizes ranging from $250-$1,500 going to winners of each class. Iron Man Weekend Finale takes place Saturday with modifieds getting in on the action.

Several other events are scheduled through the spring at the track including racing on May 9 and May 30. The Bob and Dean Flaws Memorial is set for June 20 followed by the Bill Rice Memorial a week later.

The Mike Baker Memorial takes place July 11 with action going on during the Hamilton County Fair later that month.

Weather forced the planned opener to be scrapped.
