Webster City girls win regular-season finale

The Webster City girls picked up some late-season momentum with a 53-32 home victory over Perry last Thursday.
Evie Davis had 19 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals to lead the Lynx (8-13 overall) in their regular season finale. Jaylyn Bahrenfuss added 11 points, knocking down three 3-pointers.
Alivia Burns chipped in 10 points with four assists, as Avery Poppen grabbed six rebounds.
The Lynx honored seniors Burns and Ashlee Nydegger for Senior Night.
After leading by four following the first, Webster City built a 22-13 lead at the break. They took an eight-point cushion into the final eight minutes before outscoring the Jayettes in the fourth, 16-3.
Up next for the Lynx will be Boone in a Class 4A, Region 2 quarterfinal here on Wednesday.
