South Hamilton’s Harris keeps hopes alive at state

DES MOINES — Brody Harris kept his state wrestling tournament hopes alive, securing a second victory here Thursday in Class 1A action.

Harris, competing at 285 pounds, earned a fall over Simon Shetler of Iowa City Regina in the consolation second round. He will compete Friday morning at Casey’s Center.

In his first match, Harris pinned Maverrick Kalb from Treynor in 3:44 to advance. He came up short vs. Logan Lashbrook from Janesville, sending him to the consolation side.

Harris then prevailed, improving to 30-16 when he bested Shetler.

Parker Stuck (24-21) had his tournament run come to an end, dropping matches to Luke Lansing of Springville and Ruger Kincaid from Baxter at 190.
