JEWELL — The South Hamilton girls got back on track here last Friday, downing Perry, 44-28.
Holding a 19-14 lead heading into the third, the Hawks (8-11 overall) would use a 17-10 run to put distance between themselves and the Jayettes.
Emma Lammers scored 12 points, Signe Swenson added 10 and Tessa Skartvedt finished with eight points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks. Swenson also had six rebounds.
“It’s always great to get a win on Senior Night,” SHHS head coach Mark Henderson said. “We played a bit sloppy at times, but we were able to make enough plays to pull away and win comfortably.
“Once we started getting the ball inside and making the defense collapse, it opened up a lot of great looks from the perimeter and we started knocking those down.”
Isabel Swenson, a senior, recorded five rebounds and four steals. She was honored along with classmates Daytona Ferrie, Kayley Zanker, Lillie Ammerman, Bianca Seaton, Kaylen Trask, Lillian Davis and Addison Engelby.
South Hamilton has now won 11 of 12 games vs. Perry since 2021, including two in a row.
The Hawks take on Grand View Christian here on Monday.
