The Webster City wrestling team went hold-for-hold with Ballard last Thursday night, coming up short in a tough dual, 43-30.

The Lynx scored the final two matches by fall, as Cody Elliott and Peyton Weisberg each earned pins.

Angel Ramirez and Ty Bingham were awarded forfeits, as Dawson Bertran and Gavin Wynkoop picked up decisions.

Bertran downed Grayson Hedrick at 138 pounds, 8-5, and Wynkoop followed with a 12-5 decision at 144 over Kyle Rhiner.

Elliott pinned Leif Jorgensen in 1:49 and Weisberg capped off the dual with a 19-second pin at heavyweight over Walter Sterk.

This past Saturday, Webster City was in action at the Norsemen Dual Tournament, placing sixth overall after falling to Estherville-LC, 58-21.

In pool play, the Lynx bested Garner-Hayfield/Ventura, dropping duals to Roland-Story and Woodward-Granger.

Wynkoop and Elliott both went 3-1, as Ramirez, Lincoln Brookshire, Tariq Burton, Jaysen Vankham, Dawson Bertran, Ridge Berninghaus and Eli Estlund all won two matches each.
