FORT DODGE — A tough third quarter kept the Webster City girls from securing a road win here Tuesday night, as Fort Dodge St. Edmond claimed a 49-34 victory.
The Lynx hung around with the Gaels before a 14-2 run by St. Edmond (15-5 overall) put them in control of the contest.
Evie Davis had 11 points with nine rebounds to lead Webster City. Alivia Burns added eight points. Tristyn Wright grabbed seven rebounds and Lovie Pruismann had two points, six rebounds and three steals.
Isabel Weinschenk came in late off the bench and drained two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.
For the Gaels, Eden Horn had 17 points, 16 rebounds and blocked eight shots. Chloe Palmer added 13 points.
The Lynx tied the game at 7-all after the first period behind a 3-pointer from Jaylyn Bahrenfuss — who had six points in the contest — and buckets from Burns and Davis.
Webster City, which is now 7-13 on the season, closes out the regular season on Thursday at Perry (4-16). Varsity tip for the girls-only contest is set for 7:30 p.m.
