CLARION — The Webster City girls basketball squad built some late-season momentum with a lopsided win here on Friday night.

For the second time this year, the Lynx easily handled Clarion-Goldfield/Dows by a final of 61-13.

Evie Davis had 17 points and 11 rebounds in the victory for Webster City (7-12 overall), which had dropped four in a row. Davis also blocked three shots.

Jaylyn Bahrenfuss added 10 points, five assists and seven steals. Avery Poppen contributed 11 points and eight boards off the bench in the rout.

“Our goal was to obviously win, but we wanted to play well in the process,” WCHS head coach Marty McKinney said. “The girls went out and executed and played very well.”

Webster City (7-12 overall) has won three straight over Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, scoring over 60 in each of the last three games. The Lynx won the first encounter earlier this year, 65-4.

Up next for Webster City will be a trip to Fort Dodge to face St. Edmond on Tuesday night.

Starting at $3.46/week.
