The Webster City girls picked up a big win over Humboldt here last Friday night, 44-39.

Evie Davis had 16 points with 14 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal to lead the Lynx. Lovie Pruismann added nine points with four blocks and three assists.

Alivia Burns recorded seven points, seven rebounds and two steals.

“It was a great team win,” WCHS head coach Marty McKinney said. “The girls executed our game plan at the defensive end perfectly. Holding Ava Fischer to 17 points with only three field goals was a great team effort.

“We were coming off a low spot after Tuesday at Hampton-Dumont/CAL, but the girls really responded.”

Webster City took control of the contest in the fourth, scoring 16 points. They led by one after the first and two going into the fourth, snapping a two-game losing skid in the process.

The win was the second straight against the Wildcats, who had won three in a row prior.

Jaylyn Bahrenfuss and Avery Poppen both scored four points, as Tristyn Wright had four rebounds, two steals, two assists and a block.

Up next for the Lynx will be a trip to Iowa Falls-Alden on Tuesday before returning home to host Algona on Friday.

Starting at $3.46/week.
