South Hamilton girls even their record
SAYDEL — The South Hamilton girls got back in the win column here on Tuesday night, routing Saydel by a final of 59-26.
Isabel Swenson and Signe Swenson both had 14 points for the Hawks. Kaylen Trask added 10.
“We started off a little slow (down 10-8 after the opening quarter), but had a great second half to come away with a nice win,” SH head coach Mark Henderson said. “We did a good job of finding our post players in good spots to score. That really opened things up for our shooters, and when we got hot in the second half, we kind of blew the game open.”
Isabel Swenson made four of the team’s seven shots from behind the three-point arc in the second half, which went to South Hamilton by a count of 36-12.
The Hawks are now 7-7, having won three of four around a tough 38-36 loss to Nevada last week.
“I liked our energy throughout, but I especially thought our girls off the bench picked up the tempo when they came in,” Henderson said. “That helped us get Saydel into foul trouble, and when they had to go to their bench, we had a big advantage.”
In the boys game, South Hamilton came up short against Saydel, 81-49.
