Lynx drop pair of games to Cadets
IOWA FALLS — A late run by Iowa Falls-Alden kept the Webster City girls from picking up a North Central Conference road win here Tuesday night.
The Cadets erased an early 11-point deficit, outscoring the Lynx over the final 16 minutes to earna 60-53 decision.
“The girls battled all night long and just came up short,” WCHS head coach Marty McKinney said.
Iowa Falls-Alden used a 20-14 run in the third and a 19-10 closing burst in the fourth to seal the deal.
Up next for Webster City will be a return home to host No. 15 (Class 3A) Algona on Friday night.
In the boys game, the Lynx fell, 64-57, as they battled back after falling behind 21-11 after the first quarter. Iowa Falls-Alden held a 34-16 lead at the break, as Webster City outscored them over the final two quarters, 41-30.
