Lynx boys drop home decision to Wildcats

The Webster City boys basketball squad couldn’t turn the corner against Humboldt at home last Friday, falling by a final of 47-37.
Coyce Bertran had 13 points and Alex Staley added 10 for the Lynx (2-11 overall, 1-6 in the North Central Conference), who dropped their ninth straight game. The Wildcats improved to 8-5 and 4-3.
Bertran knocked down three shots from behind the arc. Grant Arends contributed eight points.
All of Staley’s points came in the second half.
Chase Flaherty paced Humboldt with 12 points. Valley Davis was next in line with 11.
The Wildcats led 18-15 at halftime, then extended their advantage to as many as 15 points in the final frame.
Webster City returns to action on Tuesday at Iowa Falls-Alden. The next home contest for the Lynx is Friday against Algona.
Both varsity boys tips this week are slated for 7:30 p.m.
