Evie Davis tallied another double-double, leading the Webster City girls to a convincing 57-29 victory over Southeast Valley here Tuesday night.
The sophomore scored 24 points on 9 of 15 shooting from the field, adding 13 rebounds with two assists, a steal and a blocked shot to lead the Lynx (5-6 overall).
Tristyn Wright had 14 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks, as Avery Poppen added five points and five rebounds.
Alivia Burns dished out three assists.
“It was nice to be able to get back in the gym after Monday night’s (loss at South Central Calhoun),” WCHS head coach Marty McKinney said. “We made it a point to start well and jumped out to a 15-0 lead in the first quarter.”
Webster City led 17-6 after the first quarter and shut the Jaguars out in the third, 11-0.
“The effort at both ends was good throughout the game, but in particular during the third quarter when we held them scoreless,” McKinney said. “We now have a big challenge Friday night with a good St. Edmond team coming to our place.”
The Lynx host the Gaels at 6 p.m. on Friday.
