The Webster City girls basketball squad easily handled Clarion-Goldfield/Dows on Friday night, prevailing by a final of 65-4.

“It was nice to get a win in our first home game since the holiday break,” WCHS head coach Marty McKinney said. “The girls took care of business and executed at both ends of the floor.”

Evie Davis had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Lynx (4-5 overall, 2-4 in the North Central Conference). Jaylyn Bahrenfuss added 13 points, four assists and four steals.

Lovie Pruismann contributed nine points, while Ashley Nydegger had eight off the bench. Tristyn Wright tallied seven.

Nine different Webster City players scored against the Cowgirls, who are back in varsity action this season after having to halt program games a year ago due to low numbers.

“I want to give a shout out to the CGD girls for giving their best effort despite the final score.”

The Lynx are back in action on Monday at South Central Calhoun.

Starting at $3.46/week.
