Webster City girls compete in stacked Ames Invite field

AMES — The Webster City girls wrestling squad was in action here Saturday at a loaded Ames Invitational field.

The 19-team event included winner Cedar Falls, host Ames, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Clear Lake, as the Lynx finished 16th overall.

Liberty Gamble had the highest placing for Webster City, as she was fourth overall at 235 pounds. Joyful Ssubbi finished fifth at 90 and Kate Feltz was eighth at 140 after scoring a 59-second fall in the consolation rounds.

Kearsyn Kite, Kali Hartnett and Ariana Wilson all recorded a pin on the day in full brackets.

Webster City wrestles in the Eagle Grove Invitational on Tuesday with AGWSR, Baxter, Emmetsburg, GTRA, Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden, Nevada, Pocahontas Area, West Bend-Mallard, West Fork and West Marshall all set to be in attendance.
