Impressive debut for Hawk girls
ROCKWELL CITY — The South Hamilton girls opened the 2025-26 season with a 57-37 victory over South Central Calhoun here Tuesday night.
Emma Lammers scored a game-high 23 points, as the Hawks took control of the contest early.
South Hamilton (1-0 overall) led by five after the first quarter and 10 at the break, using five 3-pointers in the third to go up 41-23. Lammers had 14 at that point, scoring nine more in the final eight minutes to put the game away.
Kaylen Trask, Tessa Skartvedt and Adelyn Trash each scored eight. Skartvedt added eight rebounds, Lammer had five steals and Allie Neuberger recorded four rebounds with three assists.
Signe Swenson grabbed eight rebounds off the bench and had four points.
This was the first win for the Hawks over South Central Calhoun in the Bound-era, which dates back to 2017.
South Hamilton heads to Iowa Falls-Alden on Thursday night followed by a road date with Nevada on Friday.
