A big fourth quarter gave the Webster City boys a shot here in the season opener last Friday night, but the Lynx came up short, falling to Hampton-Dumont/CAL, 47-46.
Webster City scored 21 points in the final eight minutes, cutting a once 11-point lead down to single digits.
Coyce Bertran sank five 3-pointers and scored 22 points to lead the way, as Alex Staley added seven points with four assists. Grant Arends had four points, 10 rebounds, six blocked shots and two steals, as Zack Lahr added five points and four rebounds.
Iowa State football commit Brady Harr had 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs.
The Lynx host Iowa Falls-Alden on Tuesday and are at Algona on Friday.
