Net Honors
Morgan Hackbarth, Claire Hewitt and Emma Lammers were recently named all-district volleyball selections by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Hackbarth, a senior, was placed on the Class 4A West team after recording 446 digs with 39 assists and nine kills in 35 matches. She was also 240 of 252 serving with 27 aces.
Hewitt, a senior, and Lammers, a sophomore, were named to the 2A Central squad. Hewitt tallied 320 assists, 70 kills, 219 digs, 21 blocks and 36 aces, serving 94 percent for the season.
Lammers had 335 digs, 46 assists and five kills.
North Central Conference athletes join all-state volleyball by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Humboldt’s Adelynn Goodell and Addie Waldorf were joined by Algona’s Katie Limbaugh in Class 3A. In 2A, Emmetsburg’s Rachel Schany and Calista Joyce were joined by Ava Moline from Manson Northwest Webster.
Goodell and Waldorf helped lead the Wildcats to their first-ever state volleyball victory this past fall, placing second overall. Humboldt’s Kara Waldorf was tabbed the 3A coach of the year.
Goodell, a sophomore named first-team, recorded 307 kills with 51 aces, 44 digs and 43 blocks, serving 94 percent for the year.
Waldorf, also a 10th-grader who was on the second-team, tallied 976 assists with 91 kills, 180 digs, 52 aces and 34 blocks. She was successful on 316 of 347 serve attempts.
Limbaugh, a freshman third team selection, tallied 387 kills, 252 digs, 52 aces and 34 blocks on the year for the Bulldogs.
