South Hamilton set to host district champion Manson NW Webster
JEWELL — The South Hamilton football team returns to action at home on Friday evening.
The Hawks will host Manson Northwest Webster on Senior Night, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
South Hamilton (0-7 overall, 0-4 in the district) is set to honor seniors Linnea Hebnes, Jose Babcock, Gaige Willis, Titus Herrick, Brody Harris and Parker Stuck.
Hawk sophomore Wyatt Gelder surpassed 1,000 yards on the year last week vs. Emmetsburg. He enters the night with 1,011 yards on 151 carries, scoring 12 touchdowns.
Babcock has 302 yards rushing with three touchdowns. Junior Maddux Becker has 337 and a score. Herrick also has a rushing touchdown.
Benjamin Swenson, Gelder and Harris all have over 30 tackles on defense. Swenson has recorded three quarterback sacks.
Manson Northwest Webster (5-2, 4-0) has clinched the district title, winning its last five games overall. The Cougars are led by junior Coy Moline, as he has rushed for 941 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Moline also has 231 yards passing and a pair of scores, as Tegan Thoma has 254 yards on the ground and Mason Anderson 196. The two have combined for six rushing touchdowns.
This marks the first meeting between the teams since 2022, which South Hamilton won, 54-13. The Hawks have won six in a row in the series and seven of eight overall since 2014.
While this is officially the end of the regular season, South Hamilton has added a Week 9 contest with Eagle Grove. That game will take place here next Friday.
