South Hamilton heads to East Sac County
WALL LAKE — The South Hamilton football team chases victory No. 1 on the season here Friday night vs. East Sac County.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Hawks (0-4 overall, 0-1 in Class 1A, District 2), were unable to get on track last week, falling to South Central Calhoun, 35-14.
Wyatt Gelder continues to pile up yards on the ground, rushing for a team-best 497 with six touchdowns. The sophomore is averaging 7.4 yards per carry.
Garrett Johnson and Titus Herrick both have a rushing touchdown, as Maddux Becker has 126 yards and Jose Babcock 96.
Sophomore Benjamin Swenson anchors the defense with 22 tackles, having recorded three sacks on the year. Brody Harris, Gelder and Harris all have double-digit totals in tackles.
East Sac County (1-3, 0-1) dropped a 41-19 decision to Manson Northwest Webster on the road last Friday, having earned a win in Week 2 over Alta-Aurelia, 25-15.
Weston Julin, a sophomore, has thrown for 257 yards and ran for 249 to lead the Raiders. He has four TDs on the ground and two in the air, completing 54 percent of his passes.
Carson Schmitt leads the team with 325 yards rushing, adding three touchdowns. Gabe King has rushed for 118. Dawson Allen has 10 receptions; Zach Jacobsen has six.
