South Hamilton continues volleyball surge
JEWELL — The South Hamilton volleyball squad swept Saydel on Thursday at home, improving to 13-10 on the season.
Scores were 25-21, 25-11 and 21-19 in favor of the Hawks.
Junior Tessa Skartvedt had 10 kills for South Hamilton. Junior Riah Van De Pol added seven.
Senior Claire Hewitt (14) and junior Aliya Erickson (12) led the way in assists.
Senior Fiona Rott and Skartvedt both recorded five ace serves. Rott misfired on just one of 19 serve attempts.
Defensively, sophomore Emma Lammers tallied 13 digs. Senior Sara Scheller finished with three blocks.
South Hamilton has now won six of its last eight matches overall.
The Hawks are back in action on Monday at Grand View Christian, beginning at 6:30 p.m. They return home on Tuesday to square off with PCM at 6:30 p.m.
