STORY CITY — The South Hamilton volleyball team started the year off with three matches here Monday at the Roland-Story Early Bird quadrangular.

After falling in straight sets to both seventh-ranked (Class 3A) Roland-Story and Webster City, the Hawks picked up a sweep vs. Central Springs.

In the match with Central Springs, South Hamilton earned sets by scores of 21-18 and 21-14. They lost to Roland-Story, 21-13, 21-8, and Webster City, 21-8, 21-17.

The victory marked the first for the Hawks over Central Springs since the 2019 season.

Next action for the Hawks will be on Thursday when they head to Conrad for a triangular involving host BCLUW and South Hardin. South Hamilton will take on BCLUW at 5:30 p.m. followed by South Hardin at 7 p.m.
