Lynx softball takes NCC opener
CLARION — The Webster City softball team picked up a win in their North Central Conference opener here last Friday, blasting Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, 9-0 in five innings.
Jaylyn Bahrenfuss and Morgan Hackbarth each recorded two hits and drove in a pair while Jakaela Cherry and Breanna Bahrenfuss both had an RBI.
Cherry, who earned the win inside the circle, recorded 12 strikeouts and allowed just one hit with three walks.
Cloe Savitski and Isabel Weinschenk both stole two bases as Jaylyn Bahrenfuss had a triple.
“I thought we bounced back really well after North Polk,” WCHS head coach Brad VanDeer said. “It was nice to have a couple days of practice, as it allowed us to refocus and pinpoint some areas we needed to get better at.”
The Lynx head to Storm Lake on Tuesday night.
