The Webster City baseball squad edged Boone on Friday, 6-5, before dropping a 9-4 decision to Saydel on Saturday.

Matthew Tesdahl had two hits and Brady Asklund drove in a pair for the Lynx (7-12) in the win over the 11-6 Toreadors. A five-run fourth inning was the difference for Webster City.

Asklund and Aiden Hrnicek both doubled. Six different Lynx players scored runs.

Gavin Griffith worked six innings on the mound, striking out four and earning the victory.

The Lynx also led Saydel by a 3-2 count heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, but the Eagles plated three in that frame and added four insurance runs in the sixth.

Carter Mickelson was 2-for-3 with a solo home run to pace the Webster City offense. Tesdahl doubled and scored twice.

Braylon Dyvig allowed nine runs, but only five were earned, in 5.2 innings of work.

After a road trip to Clear Lake on Monday, the Lynx are next in action on Thursday at Charles City.

Starting at $3.46/week.
