Hawks edged on the road
ELDORA — The South Hamilton baseball team was clipped by South Hardin here Tuesday night, 2-1.
Braden Young had an RBI-double to lead the Hawks, scoring Titus Herrick.
Garrett Johnson, Landon Sogard and Holden Moore each had a single. Carson Gibbs and Sogard reached on walks.
Brody Harris went five innings on the mound, striking out three while allowing just two hits and one earned run. Andrew Jensen and Johnson both recorded a strikeout in relief duty.
South Hardin plated a run in the first and one in the fourth, with the lone run for South Hamilton coming in the seventh.
The Hawks have lost two games by one run since a 5-2 win over Greene County earlier this month.
Young, a senior, leads the team with a .400 average, recording 12 hits and scoring six runs.
Sogard, also a senior, has 27 strikeouts with a one on the mound.
