FORT DODGE — The Webster City softball team concluded a tough week with a 9-1 loss to No. 7 (Class 1A) St. Edmond last Friday night at Rogers Park.
Alivia Burns recorded an inside-the-park home run for the lone run of the game for the Lynx. Cloe Savitski recorded two hits and stole a base.
Down just 1-0, Webster City tied it when Burns hit a ball that got past the Gael outfielder and rolled to the fence. The speedy No. 9 hitter sprinted all the way home, tying the contest.
St. Edmond plated two in the bottom of the third to take the lead before adding two more in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth to close the Lynx out.
Webster City was scheduled to compete at the Paul and Mary Ann Graves Classic in Perry on Saturday, but the event was canceled.
On Wednesday night, the Lynx fell to Clear Lake by a final of 15-7.
Breanna Bahrenfuss drove in two runs with a pair of hits, while Hailey Brim had an RBI double. Amanda Lahr and Jaylyn Bahrenfuss also drove in runs for WCHS.
Next action for the Lynx will be Monday when they host Algona at 7:30 p.m.
