Hawks earn three titles
EARLHAM — The South Hamilton track and field teams scored Top-6 finishes here Tuesday at the Earlham Coed.
Clarinda won the boys race with the Hawks placing fifth while Van Meter earned the girls title as South Hamilton was sixth overall.
For the boys, they were first in three relays, as the quartet of Braden Young, Tanner Twedt, Nick Severseike and Kolby Hodnefield won the sprint medley, 4×100 and 4×200.
The sprint medley finished in a time of 1:34.92, the 4×100 went 43.43 and the 4×200 finished in 1:30.71.
Wyatt Gelder was fifth in the 400, Davien Henderson placed sixth in the discus, Jesus Garcia was seventh in the 1,600 and Hayden Hill finished eighth in the 3,200.
For the girls, the sprint medley and 4×400 each finished fourth. Sydney Flaugh, Brooklyn Doolittle, Riah Van De Pol and Cici Herrick went 2:02.99 in the sprint while Olivia Beaune, Herrick, Rosemary Chamness and Doolittle finished in 4:28.89 in the 4×400.
Herrick was fifth in the 400, Rachel Frank placed fifth in the discus and Claire Hewitt was fifth in the long jump. The distance medley relay with Van De Pol, Sydney Scheller, Doolittle and Beaune also took fifth.
