The Webster City girls saw their two-game win streak come to an end here last Friday night, falling to St. Edmond, 48-44.
The Lynx (2-11 overall, 0-6 in the North Central Conference) rallied late to make it a one possession game, but the Gaels were able to seal the deal at the free throw line.
Freshman reserve Evie Davis had a team-high 14 points and 13 rebounds, with Tristyn Wright adding eight points. Davis made 8 of her 10 foul shots.
Marissa Hedeen and Isabel Grossoehme both had six with Olivia Gallentine chipping in five.
Hedeen and Wright both grabbed five rebounds. Gallentine dished out four assists and came up with two steals.
For St. Edmond, Chloe Palmer had 14 points and 11 rebounds, with Josie Harvey adding 12 points and Abby Huss 11.
Anna Lursen grabbed 12 rebounds for the Gaels, who won their third straight.
Locked in a tight battle early, a tough third quarter forced the Lynx to play from behind. St. Edmond led 17-15 at the break, scoring the first nine of the third to go up by 11 entering the fourth.
The Lynx came into the NCC matchup having snapped a 10-game losing streak to start the season with back-to-back wins over Nevada and Southeast Valley. They will try to rebound on Tuesday when they host Hampton-Dumont/CAL before closing out the week at Humboldt Friday night.
