Webster City wipes out Clear Lake, 10-0

CLEAR LAKE — The Webster City baseball team took care of Clear Lake here Monday night, posting an impressive 10-0 victory in five innings.

Josh Griep fired a one-hitter, striking out four with no walks to earn the win on the mound for the Lynx (13-9 overall, 8-4 in the North Central Conference), who ended the game early via the mercy rule with four runs in the fifth.

Griep needed just 56 pitches to get through the night, throwing 37 of them for strikes.

Josh Stansfield had a pair of doubles and was 3-for-4 with two RBI at the plate. Trevyn Lyons scored three times and Braylon Dyvig drove in a pair.

Keegan Hisler had two hits, two walks, an RBI, a run and a stolen base, Matthew Tesdahl and Griep each drove in a run, and Jaxon Griffith had two walks, an RBI, a run, a hit and a steal.

Webster City returns home to host Iowa Falls-Alden on Wednesday and Osage on Thursday. First pitch tonight against the Cadets is slated for 7:30 p.m.
