Webster City tipped by Bulldogs

ALGONA — The Webster City baseball team came up just short of knocking off North Central Conference leader Algona here Wednesday night.

After taking leads in the second and fifth innings, the Lynx were unable to keep the Bulldogs off the board the final two times they came to bat, as Algona pulled out a 6-3 win.

The Bulldogs scored two in the fifth and added two more insurance runs in the sixth.

Briar Klaver had two hits and drove in a run, Matthew Tesdahl and Braylon Dyvig each had an RBI, and Jaxon Griffith, Keegan Hisler and Josh Griep all scored.

Hisler and Dyvig combined to record five strikeouts on the mound while allowing just six hits on the night.

Webster City (9-7 overall, 4-4 in NCC) welcomes Boone for a non-conference contest on Friday night to finish out the week.

Starting at $3.46/week.
