South Hamilton edges Perry in baseball, 6-5

JEWELL — Landon Sogard connected on a home run and the South Hamilton baseball team topped Perry here Wednesday night, 6-5.

Sogard had four RBI on the evening while Andrew Jensen recorded two hits including a double.

The Hawks scored four in the first to erase an early 1-0 deficit, adding what would be the winning runs in the fifth as the Bluejays scored two in the seventh to cut into the lead.

Prestin Van De Pol and Tjerdan Johnson each scored two runs while Johnson and Owen Duns added an RBI each. Johnson also had two hits including a triple, with Van De Pol going six-plus and striking out four.

Along with playing Grand View Christian Thursday night, South Hamilton hosts Southeast Valley on Friday.
